Kermit Keith Jennings was born November 17, 1935, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Louis and Icie (Dill) Jennings. He finished his earthly journey at his home in Duncan surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the age of 89.
The family will receive visitors from 5pm-7pm at Whitt Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025. As per his wishes, there is no funeral service planned. Cremation services have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Kermit graduated from Duncan High School and married the love of his life, Wanda Jean Collier in 1953. He worked as a welder at Halliburton in manufacturing for 24 years before retiring at the age of 50. Kermit loved playing golf at the course in Comanche, where he excelled at putting, even up until the age of 85. He also loved crappie fishing with his son, David, at Waurika Lake. Kermit enjoyed the outdoors and would walk around his block for exercise.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 of his children: Gregory, Jennifer, Jay, and David; brother, Kenneth Jennings; and sister, Pauline Huff.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Wanda; son, John and wife Gayla Jennings of Davis, OK; grandchildren: Michael Jennings, Jacie Jennings, Hannah Reid, Emily Stanfill, Brittni Clayton, Heath Clayton; and 8 great-grandchildren.
