Kevin Chesnut Ford left his earthly body and earned his Heavenly wings on December 30, 2020. Kevin was born on July 18, 1952 in Duncan, Oklahoma—a place he would always call home. He settled here with LouAnn (Latimer), his beautiful wife of 48 years, and had two children, Regina (Ford) Frost and Nick Ford. He was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ. He retired from Halliburton in 2018 after 44 years of service, working in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Kevin was the best husband, father, and friend that anyone could ask for. He would do anything for anyone, and always with a smile. He was a big man with a big heart. He suffered for many years with crippling arthritis, but never complained. He knew he was blessed in so many ways, and that was his outlook on life.
Kevin could fix anything. He was the one you called when you needed help on your house; or your car, or your toys (fixing them or putting them together). He never said no, and he always knew the right part or tool or fix.
Kevin loved guitars, bluegrass music, motorcycles and his big leather recliner. But, most of all, he loved his family and made sure we knew it.
Kevin is not gone, he is free. Free of the pain and in Heaven with a nice big set of wings, standing tall and straight for the first time in years, still sporting that long, scraggly beard and infectious grin.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Orlando, and mother, Lucille, and brother, Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann; his daughter Regina and son; Nicholas, their spouses; Chris and Raquel; grandchildren: Caleb, Aidan, Maggie, Victoria and Alexandra; brothers, Kim Ford (and wife Pam) and Chip Ford (and wife Kathy); nieces: Lori Bell (and husband Matt), Amy Eck (and husband Jacob), Shanda Stratton(and husband JG); and nephew, Daren (and wife Delisa).
He is also survived by a host of family members through marriage, including Bonnie Maher-Carter (and husband Norman), Larry Mullins (and wife Sharon), Paul Mullins (and wife Shannon), Lavonna Brinkley (and husband Bobby), Paula Blackwell (and husband Johnny), Heather Waldrop (and husband Shaun), Jimmy Latimer (and wife Danielle), and Gayle Latimer.
