Kevin Ray Prewett was born December 23, 1968 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Clemie Jasper and Evelyn Mae (Hammock) Prewett. He passed away on August 25, 2021 in Duncan. He was 52.
The family will greet visitors on Sunday, August 29, 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 30, at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Keelan Prewett, Jared Prewett, Daniel Delay, Trenton Delay, William Field, Arlis Cox, and Taylor Rains. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Prewett, Harold Delay, Danny Delay, Brian Delay, Tom Madden, Jason Maxwell, and Darrell Elderidge. Interment will follow in Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Kevin graduated from Tushka High School in Atoka and received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He married Tammy Faye Delay on March 10, 1990 and they had 3 daughters - Lauren, Kristen and Macy. He was employed as an Electrical Engineer and Engineering Supervisor at Cameron/Sensia for 25 years.
He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching car shows and shows about restoring cars. He was a man of many talents, including grilling, gardening, and repairing almost everything. If he couldn't, he would research until he eventually was able to repair it. Kevin was the most generous person anyone could meet. He loved his family dearly.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Tammy Prewett, of the home; three daughters, Lauren Prewett and fiancé William Field of Duncan, Kristen Cox and husband Arlis of Duncan, and Macy Prewett, of the home, and boyfriend Taylor Rains of Duncan; brother, Kelly Prewett and wife Marie of Konawa, OK; sister, Judy Kuhlman of Snohomish, WA; mother-in-law, Faye Delay of Atoka; brothers-in-law: Harold Delay and wife Darla of Caney, OK, Danny Delay and wife Lori of Atoka, and Brian Delay and wife Amanda of Conover, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Evelyn Prewett; father-in-law, Harold "Buster" Delay; and niece, Abby Delay.
