Larry Glenn "Babe" Presgrove's spirit entered into Heaven November 7, 2023, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was born on August 9, 1945 in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Glenn (Pete) Presgrove and Viola Emmons.
Graveside services will be held at Duncan Municipal Cemetery on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Patrick Norton officiating. Serving as pall bearers are the Duncan Firefighters. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Larry was a 1963 graduate of Duncan High School. He married Sharon Wampler, August 22, 1964, at Liberty Baptist Church. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2023.
He was employed as a firefighter for the City of Duncan for 27 years as Assistant Chief before retiring in February 1995. He was a member of the Sheriff's Posse.
In 2004, Larry and Sharon opened a travel agency, First Class Travel, in Elk Plaza. This led to them escorting many group tours and 32 cruises.
Larry loved fishing, hunting, golfing and OU football. He loved to volunteer, refereed football, and played baseball. Most of all, he loved his family. He never met a stranger and could always strike up a conversation with anyone he met.
Having been saved at an early age, he was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a strong believer in Grace. He read his Bible daily and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon Presgrove, of the home; a sister, Karen (Mike) Baldwin of Duncan; brother, Michael Scott (Christy) Presgrove of Garvin, Oklahoma; cousin, Terry Presgrove who was more like a brother; brother-in-law, Wayne (Yvonne) Wampler of Moore, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Christene Wampler of Comanche. He is also survived by his large extended family including, Lisa and Don Hagan, Keith and Sonya Pewitt and their children; several nieces and nephews and one special niece Shirley Watkins of Comanche.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Russell Presgrove.
