Larry Shield Obituary
Larry Joe Shield was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma on March 1, 1953 to Robert Bailey Shield and Matilda Theresa (Capulli) Shield. He passed away in Duncan on March 22, 2021 at the age of 68.
At the family's request cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Larry graduated from Midwest City High School. He was married to Diana Lynn Hill on March 1, 1997 in Oklahoma City. They were married for 24 years before his passing. Larry worked in Garland, Texas at the Kroger Grocery Store for many years before retiring in April of 2011. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Larry liked to travel and taking time to relax. He was an avid sports fan with football and baseball being two of his favorites. Larry was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church.
Larry is survived by his wife, Diana Lynn Shield of the home; son, James David Shield; one grandchild; sister, Elizabeth Phillips; niece, Devry Smith and husband Blake; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles, aunts and his brother.
