Laura Gay Britt, 63, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born February 21, 1963, in Oklahoma City to Lawrence and Hester (Arrington) Jones.

Laura graduated from Comanche High School in 1981. She later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Throughout her working years, she served her community with kindness and dedication at R&S Drug #2 and later in Special Services at Halliburton, where she worked for about eight years.

Laura lived a life full of joy, laughter, and simple pleasures. She loved fishing and camping, spending time at the lake, dancing, tending to her flowers, listening to music, and cheering on OU sports. She was always ready for a good card game and cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit made her a light in the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Lawrence and Hester Jones; her husband of 22 years, Randy Britt; her daughter, Shelbie Lyn Bechtel and husband Chris; and her beloved grandchildren: Casen Bechtel and Matthew Bechtel. She is also survived by her brothers: Larry Don Jones, Jodie Britt and wife Barbara; her special friend who was like a sister, Darsha Boatman Bishop; her aunts: JoAnn Arrington, Norma Adams; and her nephew, Parker Britt.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 28, at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 29, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
