Lavada Morrison Obituary
Lavada June (Stevens) Morrison passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the age of 73. She was born January 17, 1946, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Dennis R. and Minnie L. (Wooten) Stevens.
There will be no viewing at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, August 11, at 2:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Lavada attended school in Wilson. She was employed as a restaurant cook for lodging establishments. She enjoyed dancing and loved family gatherings on Sundays. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved to watch "The Young and the Restless" on television.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Minnie Stevens; sister, Vivian Taylor; brothers, James Dale Stevens and Donald Stevens; brother-in-law, Bobby Taylor; son-in-law, Norman Stephens; granddaughter, Jade Morrison; and nephew, Billy Jo Taylor.
Lavada is survived by her children: Rhonda Stephens, June and husband Alan Roberts, Buddy and wife Ellen Williams, Tommy and wife Mindy Morrison; grandchildren: Shawna Cogburn, David Curtis and wife Kathy Hodgeson, Regina and husband Lionel Rogers, Stephanie Williams, Casey and wife Jessica Williams, Caitlyn and husband Israel Navarro, Trever Morrison, Karissa Morrison; several great grandchildren; brother, Charles Stevens; 3 very special nephews: Mark Taylor, Johnny Stevens, Jeff Stevens; and many friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brett Dobbs, Tucker Dobbs, Trever Morrison, Tristen Dunn, and Kaden Cogburn.
