Leassa Anne (Shephard) Heidler, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born June 24, 1963 in Lawton to Ribble Heath and Barbara Deane (Purvis) Shephard. She completed her earthly journey on Monday, April 24, 2023, with her family at her side. She was 59.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, April 26, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Alan Heidler, Rick Shephard, Jeff Skinner, Matthew Baumann, Patrick Baumann, and Aaron Blackwell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
After passing her GED in DeRidder, Louisiana at 31 years old, Leassa attended Cameron University in Lawton where she received her Bachelor's degree in Science and Psychology at 37 years old. She was also a trained interpreter in American Sign Language (ASL). She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing cross-stitch embroidery. Her pastimes are many - including watching true crime shows, water aerobics, riding her bicycle, bowling, and was a bowling coach for the Young American Bowling Association (YABA). She supported Pat and her art endeavors for Chisholm Trail Arts Council (CTAC). She loved her best friend, Terri Spencer. Most of all, she loved her family very much and supported her grandchildren in all of their activities.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Brian Shephard, Leassa is survived by her life partner of 25 years, Pat Lassiter; children: Sonja and husband Jeff Skinner, Alan Heidler and Tasha Cefalu; stepchildren: Jennifer and husband Aaron Anderson, Matthew and Ashley Baumann, Mary Baumann and life partner Mitch, Becca Baumann, Patrick and wife Meagan Baumann; grandchildren: Zachary Skinner, Conner Skinner, Kaity Skinner, Ayden Heidler, Cameron Heidler, Emily Heidler, Caydence Anderson, Cienna Anderson, Jaxon Kim, Lucas Baumann, James Sanchez, Marcus Sanches, Marlie Sanchez, Raleigh Sanchez, Avery Baumann, Luch Baumann, and Onyx Baumann. She is also survived by her brother, Rick Shephard; sister, Teressa Redfield; and daughter-in-law, Jammie Heidler.
