Lee Allen Hilty was born on September 17, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His parents were James A. and Alsace L. (Eads) Hilty. He passed away at the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with his family at his side.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Jaime Jordan, his grandson, officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
After his high school graduation, Lee attended classes at Cameron University. He proudly served in the US Army for 20 years. He served for two tours in Vietnam and during Persian Gulf. While serving he received numerous medals and ribbons including the Army Service Ribbon, Nations Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He loved talking about the military. He enjoyed playing billiards, poker and going to Las Vegas. Lee also loved to be on the computer. On August 11, 1995 he married Peggy Lowe in Lawton. He was employed as a Warehouse Supervisor for the City of Duncan.
Preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Lee is survived by his wife, Peggy; children: Melody Hilty, Lee Allen Hilty Jr. and spouse Diana, and Walter Scott Hilty; step-children: David Jordan, Joe Jordan, Charlett Black, Jimmy Jordan, and Jeff Jordan; 21 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
