Leland Joe Hamilton

Leland Joe Hamilton, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born January 25, 1945 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Joseph and Geneva Euline (Emmerson) Hamilton. He passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the age of 78.

The family will greet visitors on Monday, May 1, between 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, May 2, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Hamilton, Buddy Hamilton, Corey Hamilton, Damien Hamilton, Brett Hamilton, and Kynes McCulley. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Leland, who held a Bachelor's degree, worked as a Computer Draftsman for the Halliburton Technology Center in Duncan. He loved working on cars and enjoyed playing softball and pool. He also loved watching the OU Sooners and action movies. His favorite music artists were Hank Williams, Sr. and Willie Nelson. He was always the life of the party. He loved his family and his dog, Sampson, very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scooter Hamilton; and brothers, Robert Hamilton and Herb Hamilton. Leland is survived by his children: Dakota Hamilton, Buddy and wife Kelley Hamilton, Chet Hamilton, Dawn Hamilton, Pooh Hamilton and husband Dan, B.J. Hamilton; grandchildren: Corey and Stephanie Hamilton, Damien and Dharma Hamilton, Brett Hamilton, Alyssa Alexander, Kynes McCulley, Krystin McCulley, Simone Millls, Cassidy Hamilton, Adrian Hamilton; and great grandchildren: Macie Hamilton, Gaven Hamilton, Laken Hamilton, Eden Hamilton. He is also survived by his sisters: Susan Hamilton, Linda Robin; and many other family members and friends.
