Leonard Wayne Sealey

Leonard Wayne Sealey was born in Lebanon, Oklahoma on March 03, 1942 to Luchuess C. and Mary Odelia (Brown) Sealey. He was the second of three children.

He attended school in Madill, OK until he joined the United States Army on March 23, 1961. He came home on leave in the winter of 1962 and met the love of his life, Marjorie LaRue Payne, and they were married in Kingston, Oklahoma on December 6th 1962 and she joined him at his duty station at Ft Sill, Oklahoma. They were married 59 years.

Leonard was a full blood Chickasaw Indian and honored to be a member of the Chickasaw Nation.

Leonard was a proud Army soldier, progressing through the ranks in Aircraft Maintenance and later moved to Field Artillery. He was an honored Vietnam Veteran and a member of the First Cavalry Air Division and was one of the first groups of soldiers in Viet Nam. He served in Ft. Hood, TX, Ft. Rucker, AL, Viet Nam, Camp Casey, Korea, 3 tours in Germany, and Fort Sill, OK. He served 20 years and retired in Aug of 1982 as an SFC (E-7) in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He attended Cameron University and got his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He became a Master Educator of Cosmetology at Elite Hair Academy in Lawton until he retired and settled in Duncan, OK.

Leonard loved spending time with his wife, his children and his friends. He enjoyed going to the casino, singing karaoke, fishing, playing card games and dominoes. He enjoyed being a member of the Moose Lodge, playing shuffleboard, bingo and poker. Leonard enjoyed country music and Elvis, he loved to sing, play the guitar and harmonica. He loved sports, especially watching the Kansas City Chiefs and professional wrestling.

Leonard was a character, he liked to have a good time, he liked funny jokes and witty banter, he always had us laughing, and honestly, we just never knew what he was going to say!!

Leonard passed from this life on April 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his three loving children.

Leonard leaves behind his three children, Sandra Sealey and John Lavender of Yukon, Gerald Sealey of Altus, and Patty and "his favorite Son-in-law", Arthur Ellsworth of Marlow. His beloved border collie, Otto. His little sister, Virginia Iantria and her husband, Dino of Fort Wayne, Indiana. His grandchildren, Dylan & Otokahe Redbird of Ada, Nicholas Ellsworth of Duncan, Aly Ellsworth of Newcastle, Dallas Sealey of OKC, Taylor Ellsworth of Marlow, Beca Sealey of OKC, Jaxon Sealey of Corpus Christi, TX, and Jasper Sealey of Altus, OK and 13 great grandchildren. Nieces, Karen Goodnight, Krissy McManus, Christina Brinker, and nephew, Michael Iantria and many other treasured family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, his parents, his sister Lila Dean and her husband, Harrell McManus, his nieces, Harrelyn, Cindy, Sherri, Dena and Kimberly McManus and his granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Ellsworth.

A memorial service is planned for 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 21, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Darnell, pastor of Cache Creek Cowboy Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fort Sill National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Redbird, Nicholas Ellsworth, Dallas Sealey, Jaxon Sealey, Jasper Sealey, and Caleb Clark.
