Linda "Denise" Sutton Powell was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on February 20, 1959 to Kenneth Sutton and Hazel (Wever) Sutton-Stephens. She passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the age of 66.

A memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 30, at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Morgan officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Denise graduated from Duncan High School in 1977. She worked many jobs in the Duncan community including Solitaire homes and finishing in banking at BancFirst and First Bank and Trust where she enjoyed serving her community. She loved shopping and bowling, and after marrying Donald Powell on August 10, 2004, she found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and grandchildren, cherishing every moment she could share with them.

Preceded in death by father and grandparents, Milton and Mamie Wever, Denise is survived by husband of 21 years, Donald Powell; daughters: Brandi Rhodes of Owasso, OK, Randi Whaley and husband Bobby of Marlow; step-daughters: Lacey Graham and husband Keenan of Edmond, Billie Rash of Marlow, Bonnie Riley and husband Jed of Marlow; grandchildren: Kolton Rhodes, Konnor Rhodes, Kameron Rhodes, Braeden Whaley, Deaton Whaley, Katelyn Whaley; step-grandchildren: Madelyn Graham, Emerson Graham, Dayton Rash, Kinsler Graham, Kaine Riley, and Creed Riley. Other survivors include her mother, Hazel Stephens; and her brothers: Ken Sutton of Norman, OK and Steve Sutton and wife Koelle of Sallisaw, OK.
