Lois Labyer Obituary

Lois Colleen Bray Labyer was born February 9, 1933 in Wakita, Oklahoma to Jesse and Louise (Miller) Bray. She passed away in Duncan on Monday, September 6, 2021, with her son at her side at the age of 88.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 10:30 A.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Bro. Kevin McKinley officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Lois graduated from Wakita High School and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. She married Harold Stanley Labyer on May 31, 1953 at Wakita. To this union three children - Debbie, Hal and Rick - were born.

She was employed as a department manager for the Montgomery Ward Department Store. Lois was always helping others in need by running errands or taking people to doctor's appoints. She was an avid reader, loving to read The Reader's Digest. She loved and was a huge supporter of Oklahoma State athletics, which was where her husband played basketball for Henry Iba. Lois maintained an immaculate lawn and beautiful flower gardens at her home.

Lois is survived by her children: Debbie and husband Bob Weckstein of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Hal Labyer of Duncan, Rick and wife Cheryl Labyer of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren: Reggie and wife Ashley Weckstein, Stacy Weckstein, Matthew Labyer, Garrett and wife Paige Labyer, and Gunner Labyer; brothers: Robert "Bob" and wife Betty Bray, Charles "Chuck" and wife Sharon Bray; and sister-in-law, Patsy Bray.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Bill Bray.
