Lonnita Gail Fleetwood was born January 21, 1956 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Arthur and Betty (O'Neil) Edwards. She finished her earthly journey surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the age of 70.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, September 21, at New Hope Baptist Church with Ronnie Roskam officiating. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Throughout her life, Lonnita worked as a hairstylist, a career that allowed her to use her creativity while forming many lasting friendships with those who sat in her chair. She had a love for writing and enjoyed expressing herself through the written word. In her free time, she could often be found at the lake, enjoying the water and making memories with those she loved. She also loved to dance and never passed up a chance to enjoy good music and good company.
Above all else, family was the center of her life. She treasured time spent with those she loved, and her grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart. Whether sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying one another's company, the moments she spent with her family brought her the greatest joy.
Preceded in death by her mother, Betty Edwards, and brother, Everett Edwards, Lonnita is survived by her father, Arthur Edwards; children: Dustin Edwards (Laci), Bryan Edwards (Robin Morris), Kasey Babineaux (John); grandchildren: Samantha, Savanna, Braedon, Johnathon, Katelyn, Paige, Jakalynn, Conner; great-grandchildren: Kingston, Kashtyn, and Eliana; brother, Tim Edwards; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
