Loretta Lorraine Miller Obituary
Loretta Lorraine Miller, a devoted mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Duncan, she was 96 years old.
Born on April 21, 1930, in Hughestown, Pennsylvania, Loretta was the daughter of Patrick and Laura (McNulty) Flynn. She graduated from Pittston High School. Loretta married Kenneth Miller, and together, they raised four children-Michele, Kenneth, Mark, and Trish- living all over the world and eventually settling in Chandler, Arizona. After Kenneth's passing, she relocated to Oklahoma. Loretta cherished companionship in her travels and took great pleasure in meeting people from all walks of life. Loretta worked with her dear friend Mary for many years where they bought and sold handcrafted boxes. When she was not working or traveling, she loved playing cards, especially solitaire, spending time at the VFW or the Elks lodge, enjoying the Arizona sun and being surrounded by her family, whom she loved above all else.
Loretta's world revolved around her family, and she poured her heart into every generation that came after her. To those who loved her, she was "Grandma Rain," "G-Rain," "OG," and "Nana"-names spoken with warmth, laughter, and deep affection. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she lit up in their presence. She also treasured her many nieces and nephews, holding each one close, and in her later years formed a special, tender bond with her niece Maryann Price.
No matter where she lived, Loretta never let distance dim her connections. During her years in Arizona, she traveled often just to wrap her arms around family in other states. When she couldn't be there in person, she stayed close through phone calls and the sweet, thoughtful cards she sent for every occasion-little reminders that she was thinking of you.
Her move to Oklahoma gave her the gift she cherished most: time. Time to sit with her great- and great-great-grandchildren, to watch them grow, to be part of their everyday lives. Those moments-simple and loving-were the ones she held dearest, and the ones her family will carry forward in her memory.
Loretta is survived by her children: Michele Hawley and husband Martin, Kenneth Miller and wife Gwen, and Mark Miller; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruthie Anderson; son-in-law, Brad Rhodes; sister-in-law, Marilyn Mannley; brother-in-law, Jerry Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Trish Rhodes, an infant son, Michael, and her sisters: Patricia Flynn, Mary Grace Price, Ann Williams, and Catherine LePore.
