Lori Simmons Obituary

Lori Ann Simmons, born August 30, 1977, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to her mother, Shirley (Sumners) Branch, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 48.

Lori lived her life with a rare combination of strength, tenderness, and unwavering determination. She was strong-willed in the best way-never one to give up, always pushing forward, and always doing so with love. Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted Christian, she found joy and peace in studying the Bible at home, deepening her understanding and strengthening her walk with God.

She had a vibrant spirit and a wide range of passions. Lori loved the energy of rock concerts, the simple satisfaction of recycling and caring for the world around her, and the comfort of time spent with family. On March 26, 1993, she married the love of her life, Curtis Simmons. Their marriage was a testament to loyalty and devotion. When Curtis's health declined, Lori stepped into the role of caregiver with grace, patience, and unwavering commitment.

Family was the center of Lori's world. Her grandchildren lovingly called her "Nina," a name she cherished deeply. She poured her heart into caring for her children and grandchildren, finding joy in every moment she spent with them. Her kindness was boundless-Lori loved everyone, and everyone who knew her felt that love.

Lori is survived by her children: Ashlee Miller (Robert) of Marlow, Tyrel Simmons (Angela) of Comanche, Julee Lokey (Dakota) of Comanche, Dustin Simmons (Ericka) of Duncan, Leslie Simmons of Louisiana; 16 grandchildren: Daylan, Drake, Dredyn, Kylie, Johnthan, McKenzie, Trinity, Krayson, Allie, Ella, Nikolai, Rose, Faith, Cameron, Raylin, Jessee; brother, Robert Milam of Chickasha, and sister, Christy Crow (Bryan) of Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, Curtis Simmons, and a nephew, Mark Wilkinson.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, at the Comanche Housing Authority. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
