Duncan resident Marilyn Nell Hines was born to Geary Lee and Ida Dell (Sealey) Tidwell in Empire, Oklahoma on August 9, 1936. She completed her earthly journey and met her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.
The family will receive visitors 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Friday, February 6, at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church West with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
A Duncan High School graduate, Marilyn was employed as the bookkeeper at Hines Heavy Equipment. She enjoyed square dancing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Girl Scouts troop helper - Troop Great Grandma. She ran the concession at Hines Ballpark for many years. She was a member of the Bernina Club. She loved her Sunday School class and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West.
She married the love of her life, M.T. Hines, on June 3, 1954 in Duncan and were married for 58 years before M.T.'s passing in 2013. They were parents to Geary, Lyndel and Rheta.
Marilyn is survived by her children and their spouses: Geary and Shirl Hines of Duncan, Lyndel and Melia Hines of Marlow, Rheta and David Mullendore of Duncan; grandchildren: Jamey and Keri Hines, Devereaux and Greg Schutze, Jason and Lisa Lambert, Jeffery and ReAnn Gilbert, Miles Gilbert, Steve and Shanna Crowe; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Alexander Penner of Perryton, Texas; and many cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.T.; parents, Geary and Ida Tidwell; and brother, Alva Lee Tidwell.
