Marilyn was born January 2, 1944, in Duncan to Grady and Dovie (Croy) Rayburn. She was raised in Duncan, graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1962, and later worked as a bookkeeper for her family's business, Insultron Company. She attended several local churches growing up, including Bethel Assembly of God, where she sang in the choir.
Marilyn had a kind heart and gentle spirit and cherished time with her family. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, oil painting, crossword puzzles, movies, music, and traveling. Her artistic talent earned ribbons at the County Fair, and she especially treasured trips across the United States, a European tour with her mother, and a visit to the Holy Land.
In 2007, Marilyn married Joe Marks, and they shared many happy years together until his passing in 2024. She spent her final years at Canoe Brook Assisted Living, where she enjoyed the friendships, activities, and caring staff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Dovie Rayburn; her husband, Joe Marks; and her sister-in-law, Mary (Bright) Rayburn.
Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Ron Rayburn and Michael Rayburn and wife Martha; nephews Rance Rayburn and wife Schelese and Anthony Rayburn; nieces Tammy (Rayburn) Dysart and Dovie Maria Rayburn; her uncle, Paul Croy; great-nephew Dylan Dysart; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
