Marion Cary was born on December 11, 1944, in Altus, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Berthelle (McCormick) Coe. She passed away peacefully at her home in Duncan on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 79.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 24, at St. Paul's Methodist Church with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Darrel Martin, Ronnie Hutto, Kevin Gaede, Bobby Dodson, and J. D. Taylor.
Marion graduated from Altus High School in 1963. Throughout her career she worked at Classified Cotton, Assistant Manager of the Country Club Apartments, Carl's EZ Shop and as the athletic secretary for Duncan High School before joining the accounting department at Halliburton where she worked for 32 years.
Marion married Roy "Pee Wee" Cary and together they raised their son Scott. She loved watching Scott, a standout baseball player at Duncan High School, play sports. Marion also loved OU and Dallas football. She enjoyed watching crime dramas on television, her favorite shows being Matlock and Columbo. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Most of all, Marion loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Pee Wee, Marion is survived by her son, Scott Cary; sister, Sherri Knight and husband Alvin; nephews: Keith Knight of Elk City, Chris Cary and wife Tanya of Altus, Tim Rogers of Hollywood, SC; great-niece, Charmayne Cary and numerous other relatives and friends.
