Marion Foster Obituary

Marion Leo Foster, born February 20, 1937, in Lamesa, Texas, to Ben and Pearl (Webb) Foster, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026 in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 19 at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 20, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church West, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Cemetery with Casey Foster, Jason Foster, Brian Foster, Kirby Foster, Choice Foster, and Chance Foster serving as pallbearers.

Marion married the love of his life, Lola Smith, in 1957, and together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and hard work. They raised three sons who were the pride of his life.

A dedicated and skilled machinist, Marion spent many years working for Halliburton, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures that made life rich-especially fishing and playing bluegrass music. His love for music was more than a hobby; it was a way he connected with others and expressed the joy in his heart.

Above all, Marion cherished time with his family. He delighted in every moment spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. His legacy lives on in the generations who loved him dearly and were shaped by his gentle strength and unwavering devotion.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lillie Seely; brothers: G.A. Foster and wife Wanda, Benny Foster, Jessie Foster; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Foster.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lola; sons: Larry Foster and wife Debra, Lonny Foster, Lavoy Foster and wife Stacey; grandsons: Casey Foster, Jason Foster, Brian Foster, Kirby Foster, Choice Foster, Chance Foster; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brother, Jimmie Foster and wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law: Billie Fern Foster, Margaret Foster; and numerous other relatives and friends.
