Marion "Joan" Heim was born September 22, 1942, in Santa Barbara, California to Jerome and Lenore (Harris) Whitton. She finished her earthly journey surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the age of 83.
Joan's life was filled with simple joys and wholehearted dedication to the people she loved. A proud graduate of San Gabriel Mission High School in California, she carried her strong work ethic into her years at Bank of America and later at DuPont Automotive Finishes, where she excelled as a Warehouse Supervisor. She married the love of her life, Michael, on June 3, 1961, in Alhambra, and devoted herself to raising their four children. She served as a Cub Scout leader and a spirited team mom during countless Little League seasons. Joan found peace and happiness in her garden, nurturing roses and irises with the same care she gave her family. She also cherished the camaraderie and fun of her bowling league. Her interests reflected her generous heart, her love of nature, and her joy in being part of a community.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Heim Jr.; sister, Eileen Heinze; and brothers: Jerry Whitton and Kenny Whitton.
Survivors include her husband of over 64 years, Michael; children: Russell Heim of Scottsdale, AZ, Richard Heim and wife Jennifer, Pomanno, CA, Nicole Topping and husband Michael of Marlow, OK; grandchildren: Michael Spencer, Anelis Heim; Sage Davis, Easton Peterson; and brother, John Whitton.
A rosary service is scheduled for 5:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 4, at Immaculate Conception Church in Marlow. Mass is planned for Thursday, February 5, at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church as well. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
