Marjorie Newman Obituary
Marjorie Kathrine Newman, 83, of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 3, 2026. She was born on May 27, 1943, in Arenac, Michigan, to Willard and Laura (Sova) Hardy. She graduated from Midland High School in 1961.
On September 20, 1963, she married the love of her life, Doyle Wayne Newman. Together they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage while raising their two sons, Wayne and Robert, until Doyle's passing in 2021.
Marjorie worked for several years as the general manager of Dollar General, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Marjorie loved baking for those she cared about, watching birds-especially hummingbirds-and spending time sewing and crocheting. She had a special talent for growing beautiful houseplants and hanging planters that brightened her home. More than anything, Marjorie cherished her family. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and the many generations that followed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Laura Hardy; her beloved husband, Doyle Wayne Newman; and her sisters: Anetta West, Connie Arndt, Lorrine Alexander, and Loretta Hardy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Wayne Newman of Marlow and Robert Newman and wife, Delisa, of Marlow; grandchildren: Delicia Wheeler, J.R. Newman, Breanna Jones, Natalie Gomez, Alexia Newman, Devlin Newman, and Derrick McAdams; great-grandchildren: Colton Wheeler, Kahler Gomez, Macie Gomez, Kali Jones, Lane Jones, and Briley Newman; great-great-grandchildren: Kimber Hurst and Boone Hurst; brothers: Willard Hardy and wife, Jeri, and Gary Hardy; sister, Sandra Brancheau and husband, Don; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
