Marquita June Livingston

Marquita June Livingston was born in Apache, Oklahoma on April 10, 1948 to Ruby (Loury) and Charles Livingston. She passed away Friday September 5, 2025, in Oklahoma City surrounded by her loved ones.

She was married to Bobby Stone in 1961 and had a son, Mickey Dean, in 1962. Marquita started practical nursing school after their divorce in 1963 and was an LPN for 25 years. She later completed registered nursing school (1992), then going on to get her Bachelors in nursing and Masters in Education (2003) all with honors.

She married Doyle Lindsey in 1966 and their first son, Christopher Dwayne, was born in 1968, followed by a second son, Jeffery Dustin in 1971, and a daughter, Melanie Kathlene in 1973. She later divorced after 32 years of marriage. Marquita is survived by her children, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings.

Marquita was a proud grandmother, many close to her would call her "MeMe." She will be remembered for being a very good cook. She absolutely loved feeding others good food. She was always the nurse educator and loved to visit about healthcare. She would state that her love for nursing started with her love for animals as a child, rescuing and mending them back to health. Marquita brought her children up in the Baptist church and taught Sunday School for many years. She also adored flowers and plants; she was always happiest surrounded by them and when she was gardening. She had so many hobbies. Ultimately, she was a force to be reckoned with, anything she set her mind to do she would.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Apache, Ok., on Saturday, September 20, at 10:30am with a private graveside service with her children.
