Mary Jane (Pohlemann) Andres was born on September 26, 1938, in Apache, Oklahoma to Ernest Walter and Mary (Peery) Pohlemann. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 85.
Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 7, immediately followed by the funeral service at Crews Funeral Home Chapel in Apache. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Mary Jane grew up on a farm and graduated from Apache High School in 1956 and attended college at Oklahoma College for Women and Southwestern. She worked in banking in Oklahoma City where she enjoyed talking with her customers. She loved to meet her friends at the Red Rooster. She married George Andres and together raised their son, Robert. They lived in Massachusetts for 20 years where Mary Jane learned to shovel snow and was able to bring her southern hospitality to the people of the northern state. She enjoyed line dancing, playing pool, and traveling. Some of her most memorable trips were with friends and family to Hawaii and Alaska. She also loved her vacations with her sisters and spouses. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her son, George; second husband, Edward Schwarz; brother, Robert "Bobby" Pohlemann; and sister, Attelia "Tilley" Pohlemann.
Survivors include her son Robert and wife Amanda of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren: Shelby Andres and Krista Andres (Jose Barrios) both of Fort Worth, Texas; great-granddaughter, Averi Mae Barrios; and sister Dorotha "Dotty" Cooke and husband Jack of Marietta, Georgia.
