Mary Barnett Obituary
Mary Maude Barnett, 92, of Cyril, Oklahoma, was born February 11, 1927, in Kent County, Texas, to Orville Raymond and Louella (Willis) Barr. She passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, in Chickasha.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., October 1, at Family Life Church until service time. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, at 2:00 P.M. at Family Life Church with Pastor Donnie Miller officiating. Interment will be at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.
Mary attended school in Texas where she played basketball. She married James Amos Barnett on April 3, 1943 in Stanton, Texas. To this union, three children were born - Jackie, Deena, and Rick. Although her main job was being a homemaker, she was a seamstress and ran her own upholstery shop. She also worked many other jobs, including being a hospital and school cook. She and her sisters worked for Bar-4 where they sewed western shirts. She loved to bowl and quilt. Mary was a member of the Family Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Louella Barr; husband, James Barnett; son, James "Rick" Barnett; brothers: Howard Barr, Larry Barr, Leslie Barr; sister, Bea Bruer; and daughter-in-law, Donna Barnett.
Mary is survived by her children: Jackie Barnett of Chickasha, Deena Diane Barnett of Cement; daughter-in-law, Lydia Barnett of Cyril; grandchildren: Monica Barnett, Jimmy Barnett, Shawn Barnett, Tami and husband Josh Thompson, Jessica Barnett, Kyle Barnett; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Junior Barr of Hobbs, New Mexico; and sisters: Jean Pitner of Verden, Lou Arnold of Centerville, Tennessee, Linda Kay Mink of Cement, Ruby and husband Frankie Simmons of Cement.
