Mary Louise Boice

The sweet spirit and beautiful angel on earth that was Mary Louise Boice has received her wings. She passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026 in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Mary was born on January 12, 1942 in Homedale, Idaho, growing up with a love for family, friends, flowers, food and fun.

On June 26, 1964, she married the love of her life, Billy Raymond Boice. Together they shared a wonderful marriage built on faith, teamwork, and unconditional love. With total commitment to her husband and family, she made several moves around the country doing ministry work for her church as a pastor's wife. They shared 17 years together before Billy passed away on May 12, 1982. Her life became centered around her children, grandchildren, and work. Being a devoted housewife and mother was not just a role; it was her true calling. She poured her heart into creating a safe, loving and joyful home. Her kitchen was the heart of the home where meals were family time. As a mom, she guided her children through every milestone offering wisdom, patience and endless support. Her love for her family was unconditional! Her life was lived as a true testimony to her faith. She found immense happiness in gardening, sewing, reading, singing and church activities. She loved "exercising" her mind doing crossword puzzles, reading, and Scrabble.

Mary is survived by her children: Rebecca Boice, Billy Raymond Boice II, Robert Boice (Kathy), and Elbert Boice; grandchildren: Shaida Khanlou, Shayne Khanlou (Valerie), Rustin Reynolds, and Mekailyn Boice; great-grandchildren: Rockford York, Laka Carson, Rustin Reynolds Jr.; siblings: Betty Lowry, Margery Price, Harry Strang (Debbie), and Dorothy Wilkerson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Raymond Boice; parents, Walter H. Strang and Stella Jane Dillon; grandchildren: Cheyenne Boice and Dustin Boice; and brother, Joseph "Joe" Strang.

Special thanks are extended to Elk Crossing Nursing Home and staff for their kindness and comfort during her final years.

A funeral service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 27, at Whitt Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Covington officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Raymond Boice II, Robert Boice, Elbert Boice, Shayne Khanlou, Rustin Reynolds, and Jory Bartnicki.
