Mary "Imogene" (Weber) McKnight Obituary

Imogene (Weber) McKnight departed this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born September 25, 1929, the last of nine children, to Walter E. Weber and Virginia E. (Crumm) Weber at Broxton, Oklahoma where she would reside until her marriage to Joe O. McKnight in November of 1946 in Apache, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Broxton with the class of 1947. They then moved to the Boone community where they lived and were active in Bellview Baptist Church until 1978 when they moved to the current location west of Apache.

Her first employment was in Apache working for Phil Sims Grocery in 1947, then a CPA office in Chickasha. Her career at Ft. Sill began in 1956 where she would retire in 1991. After that, Imogene took on the role of secretary and bookkeeper for a family trucking business, also oil and lubrication business for many years. She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years, a longtime teacher of an adult ladies Sunday School class, and at different times was church pianist, where she was still serving in both capacities until Covid-19.

Imogene is survived by a son, Charles McKnight; daughter, Melanie Morris both of Apache; grandchildren: Lisa and Chad Austin of Apache, Tara and B.J. Sanchez of Woodbridge, VA, Austin and Amanda Nunn of Ohio; great-grandchildren: Damon Sanchez and Olivia Nunn; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe McKnight; 4 sisters: Melba Clift, Thelma Swickey, Wilma Rice, and Maxine Asch; 4 brothers: Esmond Weber, Angus Weber, Raymond Weber, and Charles Weber; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Apache with the Rev. Kerry Glasgow officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Crews Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Apache, designated for the Falls Creek or Mission Funds, or to the charity of your choice.
