Michael "Bear" Gene Williams, Sr.

Michael Gene "Bear" Williams Sr. was born on March 23, 1957, in Davis, Oklahoma, to Billy Williams and Mary Boyd. He finished his earthly journey on Friday, August 21, 2026, at his home in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of 69.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 28, at Whitt Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday August 29, at True Gospel Tabernacle Church with Les Calger officiating. Burial will follow in the Tatums Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Mike Lolar and flower girls will be his nieces.

Michael graduated from Fox High School in 1975. On May 1, 1976, he married the love of his life, Jennifer Young, in Tatums, Oklahoma. Together, Michael and Jennifer built a life filled with love and family.

Michael proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard while building a 27-year career with Halliburton before retiring. He also spent time farming, a way of life he valued and enjoyed. Throughout his life, Michael had a passion for cars, especially racing and working on them. Whether he was behind the wheel or under the hood, he enjoyed anything that gave him the chance to tinker with a car or make it go a little faster.

Above all else, Michael was a family man. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. His family was an important part of his life, and the memories they made together will be cherished for years to come.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Jennifer; his children, Stacey Adams and husband Keith of Burlington, North Carolina, and Michael Williams Jr. and wife Jeannie of Midwest City, Oklahoma; bonus daughter, I'Dreana Gordon and husband Sheldon; grandchildren, D'Andre Adams, Nakia Adams, Michael Williams III, and Kreedon Gordon; brothers, Kenneth Spigner and wife Debbie, Billy Ray Williams, and Timmy Boyd and wife Tevette; and sisters, Tammy Boyd and Cassandra Boyd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Williams; mother, Mary Boyd; adopted mother, Louise Taylor; brothers, Harvey Thrash and Harold Spigner; and sister, Diana Williams.
