Mona Irene Riley was born on January 28, 1954 in Casper, Wyoming to Billy and Marilyn (Black) Landis. She passed away surrounded by family on December 23, 2021 in Marlow at the age of 67.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 30, at 10:30 A.M. at Whitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Mona graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1972. She was a caregiver for young adults with Think Ability as well as other homes throughout her life. Mona was a quite person that loved life's smallest things. She enjoyed being an artist, watercolors being something that she enjoyed using to make beautiful landscape and animal paintings. Mona was an avid roller skater, swimmer, and dancer. She liked to bake in her free time, crescent rolls, cakes, and pies being a few of her favorite things to bake. Mona had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed flowers as well as doing landscaping.
Mona is survived by her parents, Billy and Marilyn Landis of Comanche, three children: Brian Maddox of Trinidad, CO; Brande Fielding and husband Brian of Duncan; Bradley Maddox of Duncan; six grandchildren: Jazon Rian Maddox; Tyler Payton Stephens and wife Rabecca; Corie Stephens and Tristan Moore; Corbin Zane Maddox; Skyler T. Powell; Hunter F. Maddox; three great-grandchildren: Paige Riley Maddox; Nevaeh Lynn; Jolene Payton; as well as two more expected next year; brother, Robert Landis and wife Annie of Duncan; sister, Kellie Landis-Adams of Comanche, niece, Marilyn Nicole Landis of Comanche, as well as numerous cousins.
