Myrlene Hopkins was born November 10, 1940 in Addington, Oklahoma to Wilty Murrel and Wanda Bell (McLemore) Roden. She completed her life's journey on Monday, May 31, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was 80.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 6, 2:00-4:00P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 7, at 2:00 P.M. in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Myrlene graduated from Duncan High School with the class of 1959. She was employed as a design draftswoman in the Design Engineering Department for Halliburton until her retirement in 1996. She married Eddie Don Hopkins on February 22, 1996 at Waurika.
She was a traveler at heart, claiming her middle name was "Go." She loved to travel with Eddie and was ready to go at any time. She loved crappie and trout fishing. Early in her life she was a bowler. With no art lessons, she had learned to sketch portraits. Myrlene could visit with anyone anywhere and find some family connection. She loved her family dearly and was known for attending all of her grandchildren's activities. Kind-hearted, she would show up on someone's doorstep if she thought they needed help.
Myrlene is survived by her husband of 25 years, Eddie; children: Stacy Jennings, Alissa and husband Christopher Beck, and Alexandra and husband Codie Lynch; grandchildren: Bella Sanchez, Paige Beck, Kena Beck, Chance Lynch, and Kayson Lynch; sister, Debbie and husband Tommy Sanchez; and many other special family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murrel and Wanda Roden, and her first husband, Gordon Jennings.
