Nellie Inell Willis was born December 2, 1932 in Bray, Oklahoma to Ralph H. and Myrtle Sarah (Anderson) Latham. She completed her earthly journey on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the age of 88 at her home in Duncan.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 17, 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for Monday, October 18, at 3:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Alexander Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery near Marlow under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Nellie graduated from Bray High School. She married Lloyd Allen Willis on October 20, 1951 in Stephens County. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Duncan where she was employed as a maintenance worker for many years. She held many jobs besides her church position; she worked at Haggar Slacks Company as a seamstress and as both a teacher and volunteer foster grandparent at Delta Head Start and Emerson Elementary School. Nellie was a "game show junkie" watching The Price Is Right, Let's Make A Deal, Jeopardy and many others. She loved tracing her family history. She enjoyed sewing for her children, painting, and crocheting. Nellie was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary, serving as president, treasurer, and national secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Janell; son, Ralph Allen; grandson, Timothy; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Nellie is survived by her grandchildren: Melody and husband Lester Mahorney, Anthony and wife Tammy Begis, Keith Begis, David and wife Beth Begis, Misty and husband Brandon Skinner; great grandchildren: Alexandria and husband David, Byron, Sidnye, Houston and fiancé Mide, Caleb, David, Corbin, Christian, Benji, Valarie, Leanne, Brantley; great-great grandson, Jaxdon; and special friends, John and Joan Fredrick.
