Nita Segraves Obituary
Nita Janice (Jean) Segraves, of Apache, OK, passed away Wednesday, April 22, at home surrounded by her children at the age of 79. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home in Apache, OK.
Jean was born October 31, 1940, in Erick, OK, to Nita Lee Woods and Clarence Everett Beason, and is survived by her sisters, Delores Jane Greenwall, of Encino, CA, and Vonda Palacios, of San Diego, CA.
She is also survived by her children: Kelley & Mike Sheward of the home, Sam Castle of Yukon OK, Laurie Robinson of Apache, OK, and James & Lori Rhodes of Duncan, OK; grandchildren: Doug Ashcraft, David Ashcraft, Pam Ashcraft, Walter Ashcraft, Thomas Smith, and Jonathan Edwards, all of New Mexico; Madi Sheward, of the home; Amber & Jonny Bernard and Casie & Sean Darling, both of Yukon, OK, and Brenna & Zhaqiel Ervin of Chickasha, OK; Justin & Lindsay Rhodes of Virginia, Kambra & Chris Nichols of Bullhead City, AZ, James & Laura Robinson and Felishia & Rick Millsap both of Duncan, OK, and Tori & James Wheeler of Stephenville, TX; Jace Rhodes, Haylee & Cody Earls, and Addilyn Rhodes, all of Duncan, OK; forty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Johnny (JR) Woods; brother-in-law, Ben Greenwall; and her daughter, Cindy Halbert.
Jean enjoyed books, puzzles, and playing Scrabble, and she collected bells and all things ‘owl’. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held in Apache, with a celebration of life service to be scheduled at a later date.
