Ruth "Ollene" McDaniel was born on January 18, 1932 to Dock T. Harris and Ruby D. (Brown) Harris in Comanche, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021 in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 PM at the Whitt Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 2, at 1:00 PM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan. Serving as pallbearers will be: Brandon McDaniel, Ryan Crump, Zac McGrath, Harold Wayne Harris, Rusty Harris, and Shorty Brown.

Ollene married James W. McDaniel on March 11, 1955 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan. James preceded Ollene in death on August 15, 2006 after 51 wonderful years of marriage. Ollene worked many years as a bookkeeper for Universal Insurance and Mack Energy before retiring. She enjoyed sewing and took great pride in making LeAnn's clothes as well as doll clothing. Ollene liked watching "All My Children" and always made a point to be home to watch it in the afternoon. She loved Thunder basketball and knew all of the players, keeping up with each of them. Ollene was a Godly woman that was always willing to help out at church and was very involved at New Hope Baptist Church West where she was a long-time member.

Ollene is survived by her three children: LeAnn Crump and husband Brad, Jim McDaniel and wife Traci, Gary McDaniel and wife Tonya; five grandchildren: Brandon McDaniel and wife Katrina, Katelyn McGrath and husband Zac, Michael Crump and wife Baylie, Ryan Crump, Alexis Long and husband Mikhail; seven great-grandchildren: Korley Crump, Karah Crump, Kaylah Crump, Rutledge McGrath, Titus McGrath, Khali Long, and Ryley Godfrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and JV Parks; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Patty Harris; nephew, Mike Parks; and Debbie Parks.

We would like to thank the entire staff of Legend at Jefferson's Garden, Legend at Council Road, Valir Hospice and especially Sharece and DJ for their loving care of Ollene.
