Ona Fay Romano

Ona Fay Romano was born June 22, 1929, in Stratford, Oklahoma to Charlie and Irene (Dunkin) Brown. She went to be with her Lord and Savior in Duncan, on December 22, 2024 at the age of 95.

A graveside service is planned for 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 30th at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin with Jim Wilson officiating. There is no family visitation planned but viewing will be available at Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Brennan, Adam Brennan, Josh Romano, Erik Ward, Jeff Ward, and Jim Ward.

Ona was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and sewing. On Valentine's Day in 1974, she married Joseph Peter Romano and, together, they raised their family. Ona loved taking care of her family and their home. Later when she became a grandmother, Ona loved spending time with her many grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Wayne Harrell; sisters: Bonnie and Mona; brothers: Leonard and George; and a great-grandchild.

Ona is survived by her children Dorothy Moore and husband Jerry, Sharon Brennan and husband David, James Romano and wife Rosemary, John Romano and wife Brenda; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
