Pamela Jane Arbeit Greenwood, born November 24, 1942, passed from this life to eternal life with Jesus on October 19, 2023, in Duncan. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Lois Jane Rohrbaugh Arbeit and Ferde Alphonse Arbeit.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 22, from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 23, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow with Zack Potts officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Kent Spivey, Dale Goodrich, Kole Spivey, Josh Goodrich, Weston Spivey, and Clay McCarley. Services are open to all family and friends.
Most of Pamela's school years were spent in Webb City, Missouri, but she graduated from Midland High in Midland, Texas in May of 1960. There she met the love of her life, Jack Marion Greenwood. They married on December 28, 1960. From that marriage came three children. In 1971, Jack and Pam were called to the ministry. They served mostly Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Florida.
Their last pastorate was at Hope Community Church in Marlow. Pamela worked many different jobs in her lifetime, but primarily as an Executive Secretary. She always volunteered for secretarial work in the churches they served in.
She was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of American Colonists since 1987. She held many and various offices and committees in those organizations, serving as Chapter Regent in DAR for two terms from 2004-2008.
Pam is survived by her husband, Jack Greenwood, of the home; daughter, Toni Dee Harthun; son Gregory and wife, Becca Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Janelle Greenwood; grandchildren: Kendall Kostelic and husband Kole, Rebecca Anderson and husband Justin, Katie Carbajal and husband Mark, Chase Harthun and fiancé Stephanie, Levi Greenwood and wife Candice, Twila Rains; great-grandchildren: Hazel Anderson, Emmy Anderson, Jubilee Carbajal, John Paul Greenwood, Lillian Greenwood, Austin Greenwood, Coby Conway; brother, Dana Arbeit; sister-in-law, Joan Arbeit; nieces, Kathy Arbeit and Amy Gauksheim.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Gwinn Greenwood; parents; brother, Rusty Arbeit; sons-in-law, Steve Helton and Steve Harthun.
