Patricia Byford Obituary

Patricia Ann Byford, also known as Pat, entered heaven and was reunited with her late husband, Dean, on February 7, 2025. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 1:30 at New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan, Oklahoma with the Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Viewing will be available on Monday, February 10, from 8:00am-7:00pm at Whitt Funeral Home.

Pat was born on September 5, 1931 in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Joe and Belle Wigham. She grew up in Duncan and graduated from Empire High School in 1949. On November 26, 1949, she married Marion Dean Byford. They lived in Oklahoma and Texas throughout their marriage.

Pat was deeply involved in her community, volunteering at Duncan Regional Hospital for 20 years. She also cherished playing cards with her best friends. Dean and Pat were proud charter members of New Hope Baptist Church West. Their work within the church was a very meaningful part of their lives. In November of 2019, Pat moved to Medford, Oklahoma to be closer to her children.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her sister and brother-in-law, Bette and Ed Brenneis, brother and sister-in-law, Hardy and Lizabeth Wigham, brother and sister-in-law, B.O. and Reba Wigham; her parents, Joe and Belle Wigham; and her granddaughter, Malisa Caffey. She is survived by her daughters: Deana and husband Steve Kilian of Medford; Rebecca Caffey of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Michele and Aaron Zimmerman, Anna, Harvey, Zac and Ty of Wichita, Kansas; Alan and Amanda Kilian, Kayman and Mila of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Heather and Justin Huskey, Hadlea and Kason of Glenpool, OK and Jake and Stephanie Kilian of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Instead of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.

Pat had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior and because of that we celebrate her reunion with Him. Romans 6:23 tells us "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Join us in praising the Lord in this incredible gift.
