Patricia Koch Obituary

Patricia Ione “Patsy” (Woody) Koch went to heaven on Friday, March 19, 2021, in Duncan, OK. She was born on February 22, 1939 to Carl Leroy and Betha Loetta (Davis) Woody in Duncan.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, March 23, 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 24, at 2:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home with Rev. David Heitner officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Patsy was the Valedictorian at her high school graduation in 1947 from Empire. She also served as the secretary of her class. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1960. On February 11, 1961 she married the love of her life, Ronney Ray Koch. They lovingly raised two daughters, Sally and Carolyn. Patsy was a strong woman and role model for her daughters. She supported them in the activities they loved to do. She sacrificed to help support their activities and loved to watch the girls perform in their music and shooting activities.

Patsy had many talents and interests. Most important was her faith. She was a Christian woman who made sure her family went to church. She was involved in many activities at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was a member. She was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and also sang in the choir. She made Chrismons, which are Christmas ornaments that tell the story of Christ’s life.

Artist could have been her middle name. She loved to draw, paint and make jewelry. She also made gold leafing crosses. Calligraphy was another aspect of her talent. She also was an excellent seamstress. She took her love of art a step further when she began creating “commissioned” pieces. Her favorite type of art was painting on china and porcelain. She loved to paint flowers and birds.

She was also an avid reader. She enjoyed reading all types of books from religion to mystery and suspense novels.

Patsy is survived by her daughters, Sally Koch and Carolyn and husband Fred Paramore II; brother, James and wife Reba Woody; sister, Faye Bauch; nephews: Doug and wife Jennifer Woody and Fred L. Bauch III; nieces: Kathy and husband Pagon Ballard, Lisa and husband John Wright, Nancy Bauch and Beth Malone; and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, Gracie who she loved dearly, and her granddogs, Indi and Reese.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 56 years, Ronney; brother, Leroy Woody; sisters, Irene Woody and Joan Strawn; and nephews, James Eric Woody and Billy Eugene Strawn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pagon Ballard, Doug Woody, Brad Malone, John Wright, Dave Taylor and Brian Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers will be John C. Morris, Dr. Ronny M. Laquey, A. Clay Ancell, Fred W. Paramore, and Fred W. Paramore II.
