Patricia Lee West, 83, of Duncan, Oklahoma, known to many as Pat or Patty, passed away on May 8, 2026, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City surrounded by her family. She was born May 30, 1942 in Inglewood, California, to Lloyd Patrick O'Connor and Florence Lee O'Connor (Zimmer), née Lav/Levy. As a child she spent some time in the Bronx, New York, where her mother was originally from, before returning to Southern California, where she grew up in the Los Angeles area. She was a loving wife and mother.
Patricia met Gary Gene West of Bell Gardens, California shortly after he finished his service in the U.S. Army, and on June 25, 1966, the two married in Las Vegas, Nevada. That's when she became the P-West we know today.
Theirs is a true love story; one for the books. Loving, fruitful and enduring.
Patricia was a firecracker! She never met a stranger she didn't like and could strike up a conversation with anyone. A saleswoman at heart, she had a career in sales and retail including Avon, Tupperware, and other ventures working her way up to Assistant Manager of the local IGA grocery store. A giving soul, skilled seamstress and wonderful cook she filled her home with food and sweet tea loved by family and all the kids' friends. Her doors were always open, her house always full. She kept her fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and plants thriving year after year.
Few things lit her up like the sight of a casino, especially in Las Vegas! The people, the lights, the chime of the slot machines. She was always up for a fun road trip and tried her luck at casinos all across the country.
She loved her family fiercely and took pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, watching them grow and change over the years. At gatherings she was always ready to talk, laugh, joke, and sometimes toss in a remark a little crasser than anyone expected. Her love of animals was legendary. She shared her life with her beloved Great Danes: Chipper, Honey, Gypsy, and Freckles; several small dogs all named "Puppy"; sooo many cats, a couple of parrots, parakeets, chickens, roosters, ducks, horses, donkeys, llamas, pigs, sheep, goats, rats, and even squirrels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Patrick O'Connor, Wayne Zimmer, and Donald Zimmer; and her son Scott Jerome West.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Gary West; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Each one a piece of the legacy she leaves behind.
