Patricia "Pat" Ann Bowles

Patricia Ann "Pat" Bowles, 87, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The family will receive visitors at Whitt Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 19, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 20 at St Paul's Methodist Church with Pastor David Gardner officiating. Interment will take place at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 21, at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with Parker Bowles IV, Connor Bowles, Bryton Ostler, Kris Anton, Brenden Kirkpatrick and Jameson Purdin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Sage Anton and Kristopher C. Anton.

Pat was born on March 17, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to W.C. and Grace (Rensch) Childers. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School.

On September 6, 1963, Pat married H.P. Bowles Jr. Together, they built a life centered around family and raised their two children, H. Parker III and Heather. They shared 41 years together before H.P.'s passing.

Pat had a love for traveling, starting with her and H.P.s travels throughout Europe and Africa. That love continued after his passing by sharing that love with others. She created her own travel group and became well known for organizing and planning annual trips to Branson, Missouri, 23 years and counting with Heather now taking over duties. She enjoyed bringing people together, making memories, and ensuring there was always another adventure to look forward to, like cruises, "mystery day trips", and even organizing a group to go to Ireland.

Pat also had a heart for her community. She generously gave her time as a volunteer in Duncan, supporting many organizations such as DRH Auxiliary, Cancer Centers of SW Oklahoma, and One Light Mentoring Program, but was mostly known for organizing and starting the Relay for Life events and the SW Oklahoma Senior games here in Duncan. Her time with Relay for Life resulted in the American Cancer Society creating an award to honor her in Stephens County in 2011 called "The Pat Bowles Spirit of Relay Award", which was given out annually. Her willingness to help others and support causes close to her heart was an important part of her life.

To offset her voluntarism, she also earned a living through her gift and love of exercise. She began aerobic exercises in the early 70s and quickly became an instructor for over 35 years, teaching such classes as aerobics, jazzercise, Huff and Puff (children), Pacesetters, Silver Sneakers and many private self-created programs.

Above all, Pat treasured her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings, celebrations, and simply being together were among her greatest blessings.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Grace Childers; her husband, H.P. Bowles Jr.; brother, W.C. "Cloyd" Childers Jr.; and sister, Marian Chessmore.

She is survived by her children: H. Parker Bowles III of Oklahoma City and Heather Anton and husband Kris of Duncan; grandchildren: H. Parker Bowles IV and wife Dana, Grace Purdin and husband Brenden Kirkpatrick, R. Connor Bowles, and Mallory Ostler and husband Bryton; and great-grandchildren, Jameson Purdin, Emery Purdin, Jett Kirkpatrick, and Eleanor Bowles.

Pat is also survived by her brothers: Richard Childers and wife Judy and Robert Childers and wife Mary; sisters: Connie Crain and husband Emory and Mitzi Sonnier and husband Ron; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and, of course, her "Rowdy Friends" who brought plenty of laughter and fun into her life.
