Perle Louise Eby Lindley born November 23, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas to Ralph Herr Eby and Perle Morrison Eby. She died in Claremore, OK on August 11, 2022. She had resided in Claremore the past nine years to be close to her daughter.
At a young age she and her sisters showed a love and talent for music. Perleās instrument of choice was the violin. She started her college education at Wichita State University. Her sophomore year she received a scholarship to attend Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. One weekend she took a train to a small town south of Chickasha where her cousin lived. This trip changed the course of her life. She met the love of her life Dr. E.H. Lindley who had recently moved from Missouri to help his older brother, Dr. E.C. Lindley.
While in college Perle was very active in her studies of music and general organizations. Her senior year she was crowned May Queen. After graduating, she and her love were united in marriage September 5, 1945 in her home town of Wichita. From this union two children were born, Stephen Bonnie Lindley and Catherine Rebecca Lindley Shouse.
Perle was active in her church, clubs, and organizations. She was a member of Chapter EE of the PEO Sisterhood, charter member of Kelita Club, Athene Club, Duncan Music Club, Civic Capers and was a sponsor of Jolly Jills Social Club. She was also a member of several ensembles and occasionally played with the Cameron University Symphony.
Perle loved the Lord and was a member of the First Christian Church of Duncan. One of her greatest joys was playing her violin in church. She sang in the choir and was active in CWF.
She leaves behind her daughter, Catherine and husband Lee Ray Shouse Jr. (Chelsea, OK); son, Stephen and wife Connie Lindley (Keller, TX); granddaughter, Catherine and husband Derek Drake (Chelsea, OK); grandson, Lee Shouse III and wife Haley (Pryor, OK); grandson, Jeremy Lindley (Ft.
