Phyllis “Gene” March, of Duncan, was born May 10, 1925 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Charles Edwin and Ethel Toleto (Hale) Foster. She passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 with her family at her side. She was 96.
A graveside service will be on Friday, October 1, at 12:00 P.M. in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Gene, as she was fondly known, was a 1943 graduate of Comanche High School. She was married to Bob March and they raised three children – Melody, Bobbye, and Rick. Bob preceded her in death in 2004.
She was a partner in the March Abstract Company. Gene was very outspoken. She liked to cook, especially sweets, and was a gracious reader. She loved her family dearly.
Gene is survived by her children: Melody Southerland of Washington, Bobbye and husband Jesse Glidewell of Utah, and Rick March of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren: Michelle and husband Dan Owens of Nashville, Tennessee, Courtney and husband Blake Potts of Little Rock, Arkansas, Taylor Southerland of Washington, Jesse Jay Glidewell of St. George, Utah, and Zack Glidewell of Virginia; and five great grandchildren: Jasper, Cicely and Wynn Potts, and Bryn and Burke Owens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Joyce Pearce; and grandson, Grant Parsons.
