Rachel Ann Perdue passed away on Thursday, April 19, at the age of 82. She was born November 21, 1935, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to James Peter and Eurah Inez (Teter) Robinson.
Family visitation is scheduled for Monday, April 23, 5:30-7:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, at 1:30 P.M. at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ with Leonard Keele, minister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Rachel graduated from Duncan High School in 1954 and attended Oklahoma A&M for 2 years. She married Donald Gene Perdue on June 3, 1955, in Duncan. They raised two children, Tanya and Rick Alan.
She worked in the IT Department at Halliburton as the department secretary before retiring in 1995 after many years of service. After her retirement, Rachel volunteered at the Compassion Center Clinic and the Compassion Clothing Closet. She enjoyed attending plays at the Jewel Box Theater in Oklahoma City with a group of ladies. She also enjoyed reading. She loved her grandsons. She was a faithful member of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don; children, Tanya and husband Barry Duren of Duncan and Rick Alan and wife Stephanie Perdue of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Tyler Randolph of Oklahoma City, Ross Duren of Norman, and Nicolas Paul Perdue of Austin; nephew, Dr. Pat Robinson of Arlington; and niece, Michaela Robinson of Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, J. P. “Pete” Robinson; and nephew, Jack Robinson.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rachel’s name to Chisholm Trail Hospice or Chisholm Trail Church of Christ building fund.
