Kenneth Randall “Randy” Whipple, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born July 12, 1957 in Eureka, Kansas to Kenneth Dale and Bonnie Jean (Mumford) Whipple. He passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 64.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, April 22, at 1:00 P.M. at Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Kathy Richardson Gibson officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Randy graduated from Duncan High School in 1975. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for 12 years. During his service time, Randy attended many courses including Anti-Tank Assault Man Course, M-47 Dragon Course, Advanced Life Saving & Water Safety, and attended the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. He served as a Master Sergeant, Infantry Unit Leader, was deployed in Beirut at the time of the 1980’s bombing. He also received numerous badges, medals and ribbons. He was honorably discharged in 2002. Following his discharge, he completed EMT training and became a Paramedic supporting the local ambulance service. Randy also later served as a Police Chief and K-9 officer for the city of Velma, OK. He was a Blue Knight Motorcycle Rider and a huge supporter of the Velma-Alma Comets.
Preceded in death by his father, Dale Whipple; mother, Bonnie Whipple; and great niece, Ella Arrington, Randy is survived by his twin daughters, Keri Damron and Meri Damron; his big sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Steve Arrington; his baby brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Melanie Whipple; and numerous nieces and nephews.
