Raymond James Love, of Apache, Oklahoma, was born April 30, 1938 to James William and Nelda (Woods) Love. He completed his earthly journey on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his home with his family at his side. He was 85.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, June 1, at 10:00 A.M. at the Apache First Baptist Church with Kerry Glasgow officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crews Funeral Home, Apache.
Raymond graduated from Apache High School with the Class of 1957. He married Betty Jo Threlkeld on October 16, 1959 in Apache. He was employed as the Coop Feed Mill manager. He also worked for Freeman Construction and helped place the first asphalt road up Mount Scott. He enjoyed fishing and Street Outlaws. PRCA rodeos were a favorite pastime and he loved to watch Hunter Herrin rope. He loved to eat seafood. Raymond was a happy-go-lucky man who was easy to please.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; son, Michael Ray; brother, Johnny Love; and sister, Barbara Kay Black. Raymond is survived by his children: Charley and Gaila Love of Apache, Debbie Love of Apache, Petra and Kenneth Roumillat of Lawton, Phyllis Raymond Riggs of Kentucky, and Patrick (Popa) Raymond of Kentucky; grandchildren: April R. Rodgers, Shelby A. Love, Amber D. Murray, April Phillips; and great grandchildren: Baleigh Burkhart, Macalah Burkhart, Brennan Burkhart, Mason Burkhart and Hayden Rodgers, Chasydi Ireland, Miles Warren, Michael Ray Love, Jacob and Cody White, Peyton Fountaine, and Gehrig Lou Phillips.
