Rebecca "Diane" Hodges Obituary
Rebecca 'Diane' Hodges was born January 28, 1949 in Altus, Oklahoma to Fred H. and Esther 'Blanche' (Wyrick) Renfro. She passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, with her family at her side at her home in Duncan. She was 77 years old.
Diane graduated from Duke High School before continuing her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she earned her degree in education and eventually went on to earn her master's degree in counseling. She shared her passion for learning, as a teacher, with Duncan Public Schools, touching countless young lives with her patience, encouragement, and steady belief in every student's potential.
Diane also served as a district executive for the Boy Scouts of America, a role that became one of the great callings of her life. She poured her heart into mentoring young people, guiding them through challenges, celebrating their achievements, and creating memories at places like Camp George Thomas-one of her favorite places to be and where she served as camp director for over 20 years including Cub Resident Camp and Family Adventures Camp. She was a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and highly active with Wood Badge adult leader training.
In 1971, Diane married the love of her life, James "Jim" Hodges. Together they built a life grounded in partnership and unwavering devotion as they raised their three children: Michael, Jason, and Krista. Her family was her greatest joy, and she embraced every moment spent with them.
Diane had a spirit that thrived outdoors. She found peace in gardening, mowing, weed eating, and simply being outside. She also loved going to auctions, garage sales, and collecting antiques. Above all, Diane loved deeply-her family, her Scouts, and the many friends she made along the way. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the kindness she shared, and the countless lives she touched.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jim; and three children: Michael and wife Mary Hodges of Fresno, Texas, Jason Hodges of Duncan, and Krista and husband Recil Dudley of Del City. She is also survived by two brothers: Fred "Sonny" Renfro Jr. and wife Linda of Texas, and David Renfro of Duke, along with several nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
