Richard Quaid Obituary
Richard Cleo Quaid was born August 30, 1940, in Comanche, Oklahoma to Richard and Cleo Marie (Frederick) Quaid. He passed away on July 29, 2020, with his loving family by his side. He was 79.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, August 7, at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Velma Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.
Richard graduated from Comanche High School. He married Charlene Sue Petty on April 9, 1971, at Rush Springs. To this union two sons – Greg and Jeff – were born. He was employed as a machinist for Halliburton for 35 years and then Nuflo/Cameron for 12 years. He retired in March 2015. He enjoyed watching football, news, and all OU athletic events. He also enjoyed going fishing and camping. Richard loved his family and having them all together at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Phyllis Woods and JoAnn Quaid.
Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlene; children: Greg Quaid of Duncan; Jeff and wife Stephanie Quaid of Moore; granddaughter, Brianna Quaid-Lenox and husband Daniel of McAlester; sister, Shirley and husband Ben Olsovsky of Mineral Wells, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
