Ricky Edwards Obituary
Ricky Bruce Edwards, of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his home at the age of 74. He was born in Eloy, Arizona on April 6, 1949 to Onis Bruce and Helen Gertrude (Yancy) Edwards.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 28, from 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Friday, March 29, at 1:00 P.M. at Marlow's Eternal Life Church with Pastor Jimmy Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Edwards, Weston Edwards, Parker Bazzill, Hoak Kluver, Jake Lambert, Kalyn Knight, and Jayden McCain. Interment will follow in Cement's Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Rick graduated from Rush Springs Public Schools in 1968 where he enjoyed playing sports. On December 15, 1967, he married the love of his life, Betty Sue Parsons. After celebrating their 49th anniversary, she preceded him in death on December 31, 2016.
Following his graduation, Rick worked for Cline Manufacturing in Rush Springs, followed by Big Chief Drilling from 1973-1986 and Halliburton Special Services for 3 years. In 1991 he started his own business, Edwards Enterprises, where he worked until his retirement. In 2012 he passed the company to his son, Richard.
He taught his children and grandchildren to ride bicycles and drive cars. He enjoyed working on old cars and going to swap meets. Riding his Harley and going to the casino were his favorite pastimes. He absolutely loved his El Palacio Chile Rellenos. He was a hard worker and a man of few words, but he loved his family more than anything.
Rick is survived by his children: Susan and husband Don Williams of Marlow, Ericka and husband Stan Bazzill of Starkville, Mississippi, and Richard and wife Candice Edwards of Bray; grandchildren: Tayl'r and Hoak Kluver, Jordan and Jake Lambert, Jadyn Edwards and fiancé Kalyn Knight, Shelby Edwards, J'Cee Edwards and fiancé Jayden McCain, Cody Edwards, Weston Edwards, Parker Bazzill, Kasey and Olivia Williams, Kyle and Tye Williams; and great grandchildren: Jett Kluver, Cooper Kluver, Augustus Kluver, Khye Knight, Haze McCain, Josh Whipple, Eden Williams, Paislee Graham, Charlotte Williams, Violet Williams, Vann Burton, Taden Williams, and Noah White. He is also survived by his sister, Tammy and husband Steve Dobey; special aunt, Loretha Malone; special cousins: Craig Edwards and Gary Edwards; and special friends, Mike and Mary Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; grandchild: Heather White; brother, Nick Edwards; and nephew, Jimmy Edwards.
