Ron Ludwick Obituary

Ronald Dale Ludwick was born May 11, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas to Johnnie Oliver and Lottie Faye (Crow) Ludwick. He was a precious, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Ron fought hard, but lost his courageous battle with Leukemia on May 5, 2020, at his home in Duncan at the age of 73.

Viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm at Whitt Funeral Home. A private family service, with Rev. Brad Allen officiating, is scheduled on Saturday, May 9. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Ron, who was raised by his mother and grandfather after the death of his dad, moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Martha, Oklahoma in 1949. In 1964 he graduated from Martha High School. Ron proudly served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1969. After his time in the service, he attended East Central University and graduated from Louisiana School of Banking. He married Shirley Gaye Adams, his high school sweetheart, in March of 1968 in Altus, OK. They raised two beautiful children together, Tracey and Steven, who blessed him with many wonderful grandchildren.

In August of 1978 he began his lifelong career in banking that ended with his retirement from BancFirst on June 22, 2014. He also worked for Security National Bank in Duncan, Red River Savings and Loan in Lawton and spent many years at First Bank and Trust Co. in Duncan. Ron was very involved in the community. He was a member of the Duncan Chamber of Commerce and served as President of the Duncan Kiwanis Club. He loved spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, tennis, camping and most of all traveling after retirement. He also had a passion for music and loved to play his acoustic and electric guitars. He was learning to play the pedal steel guitar.

Ron treated everyone equally and with respect. He always had a contagious smile on his face and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was loved by many and always set an excellent example to all who knew him.
