Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Shipman, 52, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born November 1, 1973, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Ronald Gene Shipman and Sheryl (Gibbs) Chapman.
Ronnie grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School in 1992, where he was an active and proud member of the FFA. He later built a career as a machinist, a trade that suited his steady hands and natural talent for craftsmanship. Whether he was working with tools, building something from scratch, or fixing what others thought couldn't be repaired, Ronnie approached every task with skill and pride.
He loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, hunting, riding ATVs, working on cars, and spending time in wide-open spaces. Ronnie had a quiet, dependable presence and a generous spirit that made him easy to love and impossible to forget.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Jeanette "JJ" (Ray) Shipman; his father, Ronald Shipman; his stepfather, Larry Chapman; and his grandparents, Skip and Lavelle Gibbs and Barbara Shipman.
He is survived by his children: Ryley Shipman and fiancée Holly Hill, and Paedon Shipman; his mother, Sheryl Chapman; his granddaughter, Gracyn Shipman; his brothers: Jerade Shipman and Clint Chapman; his grandfather, Donald Shipman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stephens County Humane Society.
The family will receive visitors Friday, March 27, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
