Ronald Lee Watson Obituary
With deep love and heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Ronald Lee Watson, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He left this world on April 26, 2025 at the age of 75.
Ronnie was born to Chuck and Minnie Lee Watson on January 25, 1950.
He was the kind of kid you'd find at the back of the schoolyard, sleeves rolled up, ready to throw down if someone looked at him sideways. He wasn't one to look for trouble but, from what we understand, he sure as heck never ran from it.
He married the love of his life, Kathy Savage, on December 17, 1976. Together they had two daughters, and poured their hearts and souls into raising them.
He found joy in life's simple pleasures: mowing the lawn, spending endless nights on the softball fields, eating ice cream, sneaking Pecan Turtles until he got in trouble, watching Westerns, cheering for the OU Sooners, and the Dallas Cowboys even though they never won. His egg omelets were legendary, and he never missed a chance to offer one up to us.
His grandchildren were the light of his life. He lit up in their presence, never missing a chance to tell them stories, some good, some questionable or how proud he was of them and how much he loved them.
Ronnie worked tirelessly for 50 years at Halliburton, despite facing immense health challenges. He was a man of grit. You never heard him complain, even on his worst days.
Most importantly, he was a man of faith and had a personal relationship with God.
Our dad was a family man, hard worker, and believed in living life with joy. He was our rock. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the family he adored.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy; daughters and sons-in-law: Shelley Renee and Jason Cardoza of Tulsa, Courtney Brooke and Jared Prock of Duncan; grandchildren: Caden Cardoza, Abbey Cardoza, Brooklyn and husband Chase Kraus, BreAnna Gill; great granddaughter, Eloise Brooke making her arrival on Thursday; and brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Connie Watson of Talmage, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Frank Watson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 29, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Morgan officiating. A live stream of his service will be available by visiting his obituary page at www.whittfh.com.
